# What a Complete Restaurant Fit-Out Includes

A new restaurant needs more technology than most opening plans allow for. Here's the full list, and the order to plan it in.

## The Short Answer

A complete technology fit-out covers six things: the network cabinet, indoor screens, the drive-thru, outdoor screens, cameras, and ordering equipment such as kiosks. Add content for the screens and a maintenance contract, and the restaurant is ready to open and stay open.

## 1\. The Network Cabinet

Everything else plugs into this. The cabinet holds the switches and connections for your screens, tills, cameras and drive-thru. Plan it first. If it's too small or in the wrong place, every other system suffers.

## 2\. Indoor Screens

Menu boards behind the counter, and promo screens where guests wait. Decide the number and size early, because they need power and data in the right places before the walls are finished.

## 3\. The Drive-Thru

An outdoor menu board, a speaker and microphone at the order point, crew headsets and a lane timer. The lane needs cable routes under the ground, so it must be planned before the paving goes down.

## 4\. Outdoor Screens

Screens or LED facing the street. They need their own power, a strong fixing and protection from dust and water.

## 5\. Cameras

Cover the tills, the kitchen, the dining area, the drive-thru lane and the back door. Cloud video lets you see every branch from one screen.

## 6\. Kiosks and Ordering

Self-order kiosks need floor space, power, data and a payment connection. Table service needs a way to find the guest.

## Content and Software

Screens need something to show on opening day. Plan your menu content and the system that manages it at the same time as the hardware.

## Maintenance

Agree who fixes what before you open. One contract for every system is simpler than six.

## The Order to Plan It In

1. Network cabinet and cable routes
2. Drive-thru groundwork
3. Screen positions, power and data
4. Cameras
5. Kiosks and ordering
6. Content
7. Maintenance contract

## One Project or Six?

You can buy each system from a different supplier. You then manage six schedules and six handovers. A single team for the whole fit-out means one contact and one schedule.

## Questions About Fit-Outs

### What technology does a new restaurant need?

A network cabinet, indoor screens, cameras and ordering equipment such as kiosks. A drive-thru adds an outdoor menu board, headsets and a lane timer, and many sites put outdoor screens on the street side.

### When should technology be planned?

Before the walls, ceilings and paving are finished. Cable routes and screen positions are far harder to change afterwards.

### Can one company deliver the whole thing?

Yes. We deliver the screens, drive-thru, outdoor screens, network cabinet and cameras as one project with one team.

## Opening Soon?

Send us the drawings and your opening date. The earlier we see them, the less gets ripped out later.
